As I reflect on my childhood, one of my fondest memories is singing and acting out “I’m a Little Teapot”—a playful ritual that brought endless laughter to my sister, even into adulthood. Her joy during those moments left a lasting impression, and though I didn’t realize it then, it was my first introduction to something I would grow to love deeply: tea. I was raised in a family of coffee lovers, where tea was reserved for moments of illness. But my grandmother, who worked in a florist shop, would occasionally bring home homemade tea gifted by a kind elderly woman. The aroma of oranges, apples, and spices filled our home and my heart with joy. That simple cup of tea became my beginning. As an adult, I’ve cultivated a deep appreciation for loose-leaf tea. I’ve been gifted fine teas from around the world and make it a point to seek out local tea shops during my travels. Much of my time—and joy—was spent in places like the former Teavana, exploring blends and learning about the craft. Tea became my vice, my comfort, and my passion. I also enjoy the ambiance of historic buildings, hotels, and bars. One day, while visiting a speakeasy, I was captivated by the vibe—the storytelling, the decor, the intimacy. I turned to my friends and said, “I want this vibe… but with tea.” That moment sparked a realization: I wanted to create a space where people could disconnect, relax, and connect over tea and cocktails in a speakeasy-style lounge. A place that blends timeless tradition with modern comfort. A place that inspires learning, cultivates community, and celebrates life in the moment. And so, Teaspoke was born...It's more than Tea, It's a Mood.
